Lottery
Lottery application* deadline: The application deadline for the 2024-2025 School year is closed. Waitlist applications are now accepted. Please see the application links above and choose the 2024-2025 school year. If enrollment spots become available, we will contact students on the waitlist in the order that applications were received.
A public lottery for the 2025-2026 school year for all Aveson schools (all grades, TK - 12) will be held on February 15, 2025. The 2025-2026 application is open and can be found at the links above for the school you are interested in. The 2025-2026 application deadline is January 31, 2025.
How the lottery works: Applicants’ names are drawn randomly to fill available seats at each grade level. Once seats are filled, the lottery continues until every name is drawn and a waiting list is established. Students on the waitlist are contacted if spots open up. Parents are not required to attend but are welcome to do so. The lottery is typically held at Aveson School of Leaders, 1919 Pinecrest Drive, Altadena, CA, 91001.
Results will be emailed the week following the lottery.
Lottery preferences shall be given in the following order:
1. Siblings of existing students
2. Children of Aveson employees
3. Children eligible for free or reduced-price meals (FRPM)
4. Local school of residence**
5. All other District residents
6. All other applicants
*Students applying for Transitional Kindergarten for the 2023-24 school year must turn 5 years old starting September 2, 2023 through April 2, 2024. Students applying for Kindergarten must turn 5 years old starting September 2, 2022 through September 1, 2023.
**Local school of residence: Students currently enrolled in or residing in the public elementary school attendance area in which Aveson School of Leaders or Aveson Global Leadership Academy is located.
