Christian J. Garris has specialized in all aspects of insurance bad faith litigation for over 30 years. He has obtained numerous multi-million dollar settlements. His clients have included Ed McMahon, Lou Ferrigno, Michael Jackson, and billionaire philanthropist Alfred Mann in their insurance claims.
He graduated with honors from Claremont McKenna College in 1991, majoring in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE). He studied European Community Law at Magdalen College, Oxford University, in 1992 and obtained his J.D. from Santa Clara University in 1994.
He founded the Law Offices of Christian J. Garris in Los Angeles in 2004. Prior to this firm, he co-founded Kabateck & Garris, with offices in Los Angeles and Phoenix, employing over 25 staff, including ten attorneys. Prior to that firm, he was a senior associate at Quisenberry & Barbanel from 1999 to 2002. From 1994 to 1999, he was an associate at Shernoff & Scott. During law school, he worked for the plaintiffs’ insurance firm of Ray Bourhis in San Francisco.
He is a frequent lecturer and has spoken on behalf of the American Bar Association and the National Business Institute. He has also authored several articles on insurance bad faith and has appeared on ABC discussing policyholder issues. He has also been listed for several years running as one of Los Angeles’s “Rising Stars” in the field of insurance in Los Angeles Magazine.
He is a member of the Consumer Attorneys of Los Angeles and the Consumer Attorneys of California.
