Annual Appeal:
Dear Aveson Families,
We sincerely hope that you are pleased with and inspired by Aveson as the school of choice for educating your child. We continue to utilize all available resources to educate our kids in a way that will prepare them as global citizens who will, one day, achieve their wildest dreams and desires! Aveson uniquely provides:
- Small Class Sizes
- K-5 (One teacher for every 22 students)
- 6-12 (one advisor for every 25 students)
- Personalized Learning
- Quality Teachers with Specialized Knowledge and Skills
We know the Aveson community is aware of the financial struggles facing public education, and especially charter schools. Realistically, we are being asked by the state of California to educate our children with the same amount of funding that schools received back in 2005, which translates into $2,000 less, per child, than the cost of living and education expense increases included in our annual budget.
In addition to the general economic challenges in public education, Aveson is being forced to split its K-12 model and locate our school on two sites. The additional costs of rent, support staff, insurance, custodian, maintenance, and basic needs require additional fundraising support from the Aveson community. In order to maintain small class sizes, personalized learning and quality teaching we must raise $100,000 by June 25, 2010. To date, we have raised $25,000 for our annual fund and need $75,000 to meet our financial needs. We are asking for you to make Aveson your primary place of giving. Your donation is a lifetime investment and needs to happen before the end of this school year.
Enclosed is an envelope and a commitment card. Please mail or deliver your contribution to the Aveson main office as soon as possible. Aveson is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and your donation is tax deductible, while helping to support your child’s education and the continued success of Aveson Charter School.

The Aveson Annual giving program is a school wide effort that provides vital funds for our school. Support for the Annual Giving Program comes from two major sources: the Annual Fund and Special Events.
Description of Aveson's Annual Fund
The Annual Fund is a yearly effort to raise unrestricted funds to help bridge the gap between the state budget and our total operating expenses. We're hoping that each year, our school and surrounding community including parents, teachers and staff, grandparents and Friends of our school who believe in our mission and support our ideals contribute to the Annual Fund. The Annual Fund is the most flexible and immediate source of income for our school. The Annual Fund supports teachers, staff and virtually every other aspect of school life.
By making a gift to the Annual Fund, members of the Aveson community can demonstrate their ongoing support for the School and its mission. Each year we work toward a goal of 100% participation from current parents, teachers and staff. We hope that you will join our efforts this year with your generosity and participation.

Special Events
Funds raised by special events support programs at the school. These events are organized and run by parent volunteers with the support of our teachers and staff.
June Jubilee
Our third annual event will take place in June. It is a highly spirited event, involving the entire school community. Dozens of Aveson parents set up craft booths and games for kids and adults to enjoy. Many more help Mr. B prepare a variety of homemade foods directly from our own Aveson kitchen.

Dinners To Go
Our “Dinners To Go” Fundraising Campaign has been revived for a tasty six-week stretch. Paul Rosenbluh, Aveson parent and Owner/Chef of South Pasadena’s celebrated Firefly Bistro, is conjuring up amazing meals in our Aveson kitchen. Last week's dinner received rave reviews!

- Dinners must be pre-ordered and pre-paid
- Orders must be placed at the Aveson office
- Dinners must be picked up at the Aveson kitchen between 1:00 - 2:00p.m.
